Author Carol Rich was born in Queens, New York, and was raised in a small town north of Manhattan. A third-generation professional musician, she holds a Master of Music degree from Juilliard and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Washington. She has performed at venues including the Vienna Opera House, Alice Tully Hall, and Carnegie Recital Hall. Recently retired from positions with Oregon Ballet Theater and the Oregon Symphony, Carol maintains a private teaching studio in Port Townsend, Washington, where she lives with her wife and two pups.
